I'm going to make a comeback in this one. I had Newcastle in 100 for five seasons, Bilbao in 104 won champs league, St Etienne in 107 and a couple of others but can't remember them.
Anywhere you can view the bids to date?

Nope - you have to bid and hope you're successful when the updates come round buddy

Hello troops,
A little comeback may well be on the cards depending on the bidding for a couple of teams in mind.
Actually thought no one played the game anymore so nice surprise to see things still on the go.
For the record Fyffe is still a weseel.

Hi
Not played since the end of season 7 in the last HFG 117. My interest has been raised about game 121, reading this topic it seems there has been lots of changes since then.
I have a couple of questions
As someone who likes to build from the bottom and spend lots of time and effort training my Youth and Reserves up, I see from a couple of posts that the way these players increase in stats has been tweaked, So is it still possible to be successful this way or has the tweaks made this approach redundant.
Also at the start of the game do you still have to spend the UE points in turn 1 or has this been extended to a couple of turns or more.
Thanks in Advance Mark

Thanks in Advance Mark Unless changes have been made between games 120 and 121 then reserves and youths are really only there as a way of making money through ROTW bids or selling to other managers. I’ve found that despite spending time managing these sides there comes a point that they get left behind by the first team and at EOS their rises are a complete lottery. You get huge rises for a UE included squad filler (40/50oa type) but the players that have played 25 games etc get nothing. It’s basically a lottery as to whether any of your reserves or youths will make a step up. This is still a huge flaw in the game imo. Not expecting to suddenly have a load of first teamers however there should be more reward to managing these sides and I’m hoping something that UE look at. Unless it’s a change for 121 you get as much time as you want to spend UE points.

Totally agree, my two greatest iks are 1) Lack of reward and recognition for actively managing res and youth over someone who doesn't and 2) realistic level of trialists after season 2 - Game 119 for example, really poor, whereas strangely in Game 120, I get a decent trialist say every 5 turns which I think is fair. The second issue is related to the 1st because if you enjoy managing your youth, by season 5 it is very hard to find 16-19yo players that could fill gaps on players that have left the youth as they are 21/22.

I’ve got this issue, end of the season I’ve got a load of 21yrs and despite scouting for younger players I’m now having to take anyone who can vaguely fit otherwise I’ll end up with a load of UE generated squad fillers

How is it that the divisions are worked out? I thought previously that was based on the value of each team, i.e. top 14 teams for x country went in Div 1.
Will the same format be applied across the regional leagues? e.g top 14 teams value wise from Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece for example end up in div 1?
Or is there some other format for deciding this?

Loads of managers now have their teams so it'd be good to get the ball rolling in here
