8 leagues 28 teams in each. 28x8 - 224 teams.

Not sure if this idea would suit everyone but might as well throw it out there. It's just to try it for one game maybe. See if it would work.

Lower leagues to 6 leagues. Take away two least popular.
Lower the teams in divisions to 12
Have 3 divisions of 12 in each league.
Total 216 teams

Or

4 divisions of 10 in each league
Total 240 teams

Thoughts?

I'm in favour of some sort of re-structure as it helps out the game in later season.

Though it doesnt appeal early on in games. Maybe season 3 on merge leagues? Is that an option?

Not sure how changing the division size would make things better or worse, other than lengthening or shortening the season?

Leagues couldn't really be merged. Teams could theoretically be swapped to a different league, but it would lose a lot of realism if it happened.

Have been thinking about adding a third division to the English league, as a trial. The cups might be a complication.

Is that a trial with thoughts to permanently add to other leagues?

If its a trial in the next game I'll take a couple of season tickets for a team in the third tier to get it started. Would be great if I could make it to premier. Could also add longevity for some people.

Question, I'm not sure on,

But would a division specific cup increase interest.

Premier- league cup
Division 1 - league cup
Division 2 - league cup

May be impossible to set up I've no idea, but it gives guys in bottom tier a chance at a trophy and also Uefa cup?

Not sure if this would work but worth asking.

Could lowering the starting oa of teams be an option to add longevity to games would take longer to get a great team built rather than some just not doing any deals like a Barca for instense.

Also adding transfer windows 3 windows a season or something also do loan windows perhaps

I like the thought of starting in bottom division and working up but we need ideas to increase longevity to games as most people tend to leave after a season now

I'll take on a team in 3rd div also if it helps

Just to clarify and make clear my potential idea.....

My idea would be this....

6 leagues....

English
Spanish
Italian
German
Celtic
Mixed European

Or whatever statistically is the best

3 divisions of 12 in each league. That would have 8 fewer teams in the game than normal.

The two lower divisions would have a two legged cup that would give them a better chance for silverware and Uefa spot.

I think this would create better interest for teams say lying 4th bottom in second tier as toward EOS they still have to fight and not lose interest. Teams having a chance to win something in lower leagues I think will be great.

How about an all English manageable side game?

Meaning all teams outside the UK are row sides.

Champions league could work like this

5 teams from each league and champions league/Uefa cup winner - 32 teams

8 groups of 4
Last 16 - two legged tie
Last 8 two legged tie
Last 4 two legged tie
Final

Looks a decent idea, but confusing as hell. A restructure would be a welcomed idea to freshen up the game. :)

would be good if leagues were merged, whoever is left standing after 2-3 seasons would most likely all be in the top 2 divisions, people in a league on their own less likely to stay, but this depends if it's feasible for you admin.

Don't agree with lower oa at start but slower rising and doing away with potential would stop some players getting stupid.

I know people like to deal but two transfer windows lasting say 3 weeks each might make people work harder with what they have

Contracts would be a big improvement on the game stop top sides hogging players and those out of contract could be put on list at end of season be a bit like getting a row bid

Players should not be classed in a certain position anymore they should just have stats and the manager decides where they play

Dont agree with many of these. Personally think transfer windows are a stupid idea, what your doing is taking away the enjoyment for those type of managers who like to wheel and deal and other who like to buy scouts and then sell on for a profit weekly. So for me thats a no go.

I wouldnt say teams 'hog' players, managers are well with on their right to buy who they want and do what they want to do with their player. Speaking of hogging, havent you retained most of the liverpool players in your liverpool side? ;)

As for POT, i would possibly abolish it for HFG's but then keep it for EFG's.

Yeah mate, there are 224 teams at the moment so we would be reducing teams.

I'm guessing it would look something like the below;

Question is, is there sufficient teams in other leagues to allow for an increase?

English - fine
Spain/Portugal - ?
Germany - ? Add in Scandinavia?
Italy - ?
French - ? Combine with Dutch/Belgium
AN Other - Made up from what ever is left
