I think this could be a really good idea if it is tweaked slightly somewhat! At the moment a lot of managers quit games usually in season 2 due to new games coming out, Perhaps these new changes along with regens could be implemented around season 2?! If it's to early on in the game you risk over saturation within the game. I would also suggest either making the use of karma on injuries capped per player such as only can be used 3 or 4 times on one player, of failing that perhaps add a random element such as its costs 50 karma points and the reduction of an injury could be from no effect to 50%? That way it's similar to individual player training as well as being a bit more natural and realistic. Some players in real life can get treatments to speed the process, others have no joy after embracing the medicinal wonder of horse placenta And perhaps the SA of versatility that can be bought could be capped to youth players (u21's). We shouldn't make the game to easy, But should certainly make it more alluring to managers so they don't always drift off to the next game (which is something I've done in the past myself when deals have dried up or game has got slightly dull).

Apart from injury reduction, most of the current options need saving up for and would be used closer or at the end of the season. Regens (if used) would kick in at the start of season 2. Karma being used on injuries only being guaranteed for the first 3 times for a player, and only having a 50% success rate after that is interesting. Happy to hear others thoughts on it, but I like the idea. I remember players like Paul Warhurst being very successfully converted to a forward when he was mid 20s (I think) so I'm not keen on limiting it to youth players. Maybe it could be cheaper for youth players.

I would be interesting in knowing how forum contributions or for that matter what kind of forum contributions will constitute gaining karma points.
Already there is sharp rise in people posting which is cool, but if every single post gains points then it'll become pretty daft regarding karma points.
For example you'll see someone post players for cash and or swap and do one thread per player as oppose to putting all players into one thread.
Or perhaps people taking 'the mick' so to speak with simply commenting 'lol' on a post just to claim points, or commenting on everything they can just to boost their karma.
I'm all for anything that brings the game back to the forum but this needs to be thought out thoroughly so that the forum isn't just over saturated with crap just to try and win points.

The original plan wasn't that forum posts would get you Karma points, but posts on the messageboard on the report. I can see the advantages of rewarding forum posts, and am mulling it over, thinking of ways it could be done without being too much work. The cost of everything would have to go up if one post gets you one Karma, will post a second draft at some point.
To moniter them I may set up a new section of the forum that can’t be edited – called Karma. To register your account and link it to a specific team, you need to post a screen shot with your current post count and state which of your teams you wish to link it to. When you want to ‘cash out’ and convert the number posts you have made since you registered, you need to make another post stating you wish to cash out and post another screen shot of your current post count. You then need to email the office saying you wish to cash out for x points and email a link to the thread in question.
As far as keeping an eye on teams spamming lots of messages to get posts. Getting a team of moderators to keep an eye out for it is a possibility. Am open to suggestions and I agree it needs to be thought through.

May I suggest simplifying it if you wish to incorporate forum posts...
X points for - confirming deals on 'deals done' section, Which in turn helps for karma points for deals going through or losing points for backing out. X points for - posting your results on 'team results' X points for - posting your team up on 'my squad'
Keep it simple so it's easy to manage but rewards use of the forum... Also i would imagine once a manager has logged on to do these that they may also then look at other threads and take part more...

Too difficult to moniter. If forum posts are used it to gain Karma Points will have to be all forum posts.

so we have to put up with a manager putting 4/5 threads of absolute rubbish up for sale and he gets 5 kharma points, hows that going to improve the forum ?

It's a case of whether the positives outweigh the negatives, and I'm happy to hear any opinions on the matter. There is no way I'm going to count posts from each member from selection of forums though, if it's going to be used, it'll be used in the way that is easiest to manage.

Personally i see it pretty simple.
The lazier people will oppose to the idea, where as the ones who want to contribute with more than just adding their squad or selling/swapping players and partake will agree with it. Its as easy as that in my opinion. I expect this opinion will be attacked by the more 'relaxed posting' manager for example. There is nothing wrong with not posting much, its up to each person but wouldn't be fair to oppose to the idea just because of our own preferences.
To me its simple, you want the forum to flourish and become more important than wattsapp then this idea is perfect as more will post regardless of what it will be, it'll mean busier forum which is busier game. Everybody is a winner. If this idea isn't implemented then we will see no change and at the moment forums tend to die after 2 or 3 seasons just like 117 has. Each time a forum begins to decline people post 'Oh come on lads we need to post more' but never do see an improvement, so this idea implemented will give those less caring managers the reason to.
Personally we need to forget our opinions based on selfish reasons and think of the bigger picture which is busier forum = busier game. Simples.

Im not saying there shouldnt be more rewards for posting on the forum, i think it is a must as there are some people on the forum who arent allowed on whats app so they lose out on the forum being slow , but i am totally against these stupid posts as below we see all day long !!
"No longer need this lad.
FBLOG FRED BLOGGS 23 B 9 7 9 9 7 7 5 6 6 6 7 9 OA 88 PL 34 - AR 81% (from 2 starts) - max £6,659,209m

simples! i agree with you here. It seriously pisses me off when a average player is advertised as a worldie who is poo. But with that in mind i cant see much wrong in putting a lad up for sale if you don't need him. Isn't that what that section is for? Either way as i said if this idea is added it will encourage more forum activity which is what we all want. What i will say is if there is a section you don't want to read or see then just avoid reading it as thats what i do. I don't think people should be restricted on what they post, if they are then maybe we could restrict it more and maybe eradicate more unwanted stuff like bullying or thread hijacking. I mean If you want restriction, then where is the line we draw? So i agree with you and Inter's points.

Personally we need to forget our opinions based on selfish reasons and think of the bigger picture which is busier forum = busier game. Simples. I would have to strongly disagree with this statement at least on a personal point of view... I'm one of the top 3 active posters and still I'm opposed to handing out points just for how many posts you make. You'll just end up with idiots making multiple threads on say cash or swap sales when one thread is sufficient and having all players you may swap on there. Or swap threads and someone just comments 'nice player' just to up their karma as oppose to being actively interested. This would be detrimental to the game and make it easier for poor managers to gain an upper hand. We must also respect people who are too busy to commit as much time to the forum... people may have multiple jobs, long shifts, a bucket load of kids (hulk lol) etc.. I love some aspects of karma points as many managers have expressed to me how they wish they could bring down injury durations and have been put off a game by say losing a top player for half a season... this is understandable and karma to reduce injury time is a right touch by UE in my opinion. But I'm sure we can find far more better ways to improve the forum without making it to easy for managers who just post every 5 minutes.

No worries Terry
I love the forum and always loved it. There's no need to be quick on here you can take your time and think about the deals. Not saying you can't on WhatsApp etc etc. There loads of managers who prefer Forum as some have had problems with giving there numbers out and don't like to be texted or called during nights etc etc. But there some that love being on WhatsApp and other like to contacted by other ways.
I don't think Karma points should be deducted just cause some one writes "OK" or I "Pass" etc etc. The posts that should be are the abuse and wrong words being used or name and shaming spoiling someone thread and so on
