Not massively keen on this for reasons already posted in this thread.

I like the idea of building a young reserve/youth team that you can develop over a number of seasons, where the players (eventually) become good enough to replace aging first team members who are knocking on heavens door. In some respects this method of building for the future "should" add more longevity to the game than being able to pick up first team ready players from scouts in say season 3

The fact that the players at scouted teams don't seem to improve at anything like the rate of players at managed teams can be an issue though

The thing is, how many posts per week in later games do we constantly read people either moan about quality of scouts or say they dont bother scouting because its a waste of time? Pretty much a comment is posted weekly on the results section on 117 forum. This would combat that issue. Also more scouting for those better players means more money for Ben and after all it is a business. Im all for this as well.

why not put a twist on it people moan scouts are crap , dont like the idea of pele or ronaldo arriving at there peak season 3 ,some want to bring on youth and most dont like unknown players being 103 oa .

so how about bringing in legends as youth players found by your scouts theres 1000s of them and the computer could randomly distribute them between all teams ,maybe 5 legends for each team per season ,all these players could have built in potential to match there legend status ie pele could be found as a 85oa 17 year old but be a 100oa 20 year old a season or so later if trained and used well.

1 gives you something to look forward to in scout section each week
2 allows you to work hard to bring on your legends inner potential via youth or reserve teams
3 and if you have 5 legends arrive season 2 might just make people stay in game a little bit longer if they think there might be a pele/owen strike force season 4

But surely it would be better to add to an existing game in order to see how it goes instead of a new game and risking it not working out and killing that game before it began.



Disagree with existing games being used as a guinea pig, if it messes old game up thats three seasons hard work in scouting and training players up wasted. At least if its implemented in a new game everyone is aware of it and can start from a level playing field

It's seeming like the response is mixed at best at the moment, so it may not be implemented.

It's something that would first happen at the start of season 2 so not something that can be tested in a new game really, although I suppose a game could be started with the knowledge that it would happen.

There are 1,550 personalised legend profiles at the moment.

Around 300 are less than 93 OA.
Around 300 are 93 and 94.
Around 400 are 95 and 95.
Around 300 are 96 and 97.
Around 200 are 99 and above.

It could be that only a random selection of profiles with OAs 92 and below could be added at the start of season 2.

It could be that only a random selection of profiles with OAs 94 and below could be added at the start of season 3.

It could be that only a random selection of profiles with OAs 96 and below could be added at the start of season 4.

It could be that only a random selection of profiles with OAs 97 and below could be added at the start of season 5.

It could be that only a random selection of profiles with OAs 99 and below could be added at the start of season 6.

It could be that only a random selection of profiles with no OA limit could be added at the start of season 7.

There is no point in wasting these unique profiles you spent hours on creating, so might as well put them to good use. Amazed that so many more dont agree with this.

When you put it like that, I'm all for it. Will be good knowing there's good players out there to be scouted. And they could be well spread out thru out the scouting network. Unlike legends where you know where to scout. I defo would prefer computer generated players, rather then legends names used for sure.

Agree with this also, if it does start in an existing game how much notice period will you give that game of the changes? EG 117 is now turn 20, Season 4 round the corner meaning the 96OA pool will be implemented or will you skip HFG?

Think I like your idea best but with legends coming through each team as trialists with plenty of room to fulfill there potential. Maybe allocate one to each team at the end of each season with the rest able to be scouted.

I think so long as the legends wouldn't suddenly become the best players in the game and they would gradually improve as the game goes on then I think it could be an idea worth trialling.

Initially I thought. Why not give it a blast and see how it goes. However upon reading comments I've been slightly converted.

Bringing this into an HFG I don't think is the best idea. The game sells itself and is already good enough. Extra legends could undo some hard work done by others.

I say try it in a different game.

I'd be happy for it to be trialed in game 118, i can't however speak for everyone else in 118..

Actually you know flicking through some of the cash/sales threads in 118 this might work well. Though it might be pretty redundant bunging in a load of 92/93s at the end of season two as they will never get played. That said I get the feeling something will need to be done with 118 to stop it going from the same way as 116 at end of season two - which is a shame!

It's simpler to use profiles with an OA below a certain point than use all the profiles and lower the players. And I don't want to add Pele and Maradona to normal games. Using the profiles but randomising the name and nationality will give the legend and normal games more definite identities.

I'm not keen on giving every team a number youth players with legend stats, prefer they are found through scouting. How many are added and good they can be is not set and up for debate, as is whether the idea is used at all.

The proposed spread was just an example. Would be happy to listen to alternatives to what the upper limit should be for each season. Bear in mind if say the limit for a given season is 97, it doesn't mean that 100 97 players will be added. It would be a random selection from the legend profiles, and might mean 8 97 players are added.

The response has been luke warm for it being implemented in 117 so unless there is a more positive input it won't be done for that game.

Maybe a poll in the 118 forum section to see if it is used in that game is worth doing.
