The Ryan Wilson memorial cup has been run and a manager has put a lot of effort into doing this. I believe he should be back paid Karma points due to the nature of what he has been doing.

I'm sure all would agree the amount of work he has put in. I for one couldn't begrudge him a few points.

Well said muscles,

Also honourable shout to Matt Upton, Darryl Saunders and Ian Hall, since game 108 they have both put a lot of time and effort into sections such as 'the rag' and the interview with manager sections... and Ian providing avatars for almost all managers.

Yes Darth that's another good shout. The forum would have went even more quite without a lot of what all those do.

I like all the ideas but should ue not sort out the program settings like how a team on 35points is higher in the league than a team on 37points.this has happened quite a few times and if it's computer run with the karma points who's to say it won't mess up.

How about updating the rule book as it's so dated
Scouting for ppl with 3/4 teams being able to scout 30/40 teams per turn.
Teams being managed for a couple turns then manager leaving but sell there best players before leaving.

I like this because Dynamo Kiev played 3 turns and swapped their two best players to Dortmund then left. Surely this isn't right?

Something has been put in place that should stop the league table problem happening again. The rulebook will be updated in time. The only games when multi team management isn't allowed (and hence just 10 scouts) are Hard Format Games. The deal between Dortmund and Dynamo Kiev was absolutely fair. Not everyone who wants to manage a team is able or willing to pay for a season ticket up front. The manager in question emailed me explaining why he couldn't needed to drop out. I can't and don't want to reverse deals if managers drop out or stop managers who have only paid for a few weeks up front from doing transfers.

If anyone want to discuss any of these points further email the office. This thread is wandering off topic.

It's meant to be about whether Karma is a good idea, if the suggested options are good and correctly priced, should there be other options?

Yeah I agree on the rule book, especially with all the new features being added. Not sure what you mean on the scouting though? Surely that's the managers perogative given he is playing for all those sides? Hard format games only allow 1 team per managers so it's even scouts for all in those games.
The 3rd point you made I agree with, but we can't stop that. It happens in nearly every game. The only way I see it being prevented is a 5 week rule that if a swap deal is done it leaves a 5 weeks rule that if a manager leaves before the 5 weeks end the deals is reversed perhaps?

As a reminder:

Karma points will be similar to UE points, but gained by being active in the game and forum.

Karma can be gained by:

1) Submitting an MDS (5 Karma)

2) Completing an agreed deal with another manager (1 per player transferred) (Not by selling a player via the transfer list or two a rest of the World club)

3) Using the ‘Charity Work’ action in the actions section (1 per action slot used)

4) Posted a message on the manager noticeboard (unique/relevant messages only)

5) Whichever manager spends the most (or joint most) actions on 'Charity Work' gets an additional 25 Karma points.

6) The running and completing, or winning, of any player run competitions on the forum will game you Karma. The amount will depend on the competition, email the office if you wish to do this.

7) You can use an Action slot to bet 10 Karma on the result of a league match. The odds will be (league position*2+ 8)/20. So betting on a first place team to win would win you 5 points. Betting on a 6th placed team would win you 10 points. Betting on a 14th placed team would win you 18 points. This can be done multiple teams per week and you can bet on yourself. Any team caught picking a weakened team for a meaningful match or betting on another manager doing so, will lose Karma.

Karma can be lost by:

If a deal is arranged on a thread on the forum, and both managers write 'confirmed' on the thread, it is classed as 'agreed'.

If one manager pulls out of the deal - the manager who has been let down can report it to the office by email, if they wish to. The manager who pulled out of the deal would lose 20 karma points. If a manager fails to write a deal down or does so wrongly they will have the opportunity to do the deal in the following turn.

Deals arranged by pm or whassap are unaffected, unless they are confirmed on the forum.

Karma can be spent on:

1) Reducing an injury by 1 week (20 Karma) (only be done once per team, per week, can't be done for 1 week injuries).

2) Regaining lost confidence (50 Karma) (can only be done one the week that a player’s confidence has gone down)

3) Persuade a player not to retire (100 Karma) (can only be done on players under 37)

4) Give an older player longevity (200 Karma) (less likely to lose stats at the EOS)

5) Give a player the Def/Mid/Att special ability (500 Karma)

When this is implemented, all Karma spend and UE Points spent, will be done in the actions section.

Just to get back on point whilst muscles and mick have violent make up sex...

Would the reduction of injuries duration be only allowed once per player per season? Or multiple times? So say I build up 100 karma points but my top player breaks his leg... could I only reduce it by one week and that's it? Or could the following turn reduce it by another week again and so on...

Also I would suggest keeping it simple, have 4 or 5 actions that can earn karma and 3 or 4 things to spend them on... that way it'll be easier to test and evolve.

Butt back to the thread, karma is a great idea (might have said that once or twice!) :D

Once per team per week is the suggestion.

Most of the mechanics of gaining Karma won't be hard to set up. And it will be a few weeks before anyone has enough Karma to spend on anything. The reducing injury option will be the most commonly used by a long way.

I suppose the point I was trying to make was

There is flaws in the game that need sorting before new things start
