Karma points will be similar to UE points, but gained by being active in the game and forum.

Karma can be gained by:

1) Submitting an MDS (5 Karma)

2) Completing an agreed deal with another manager (1 per player transferred) (Not by selling a player via the transfer list or two a rest of the World club)

3) Using the ‘Charity Work’ action in the actions section (1 per action slot used)

4) Posting a message on the manager noticeboard (1) (unique/relevant messages only)

5) Whichever manager spends the most (or joint most) actions on 'Charity Work' gets an additional 25 Karma points.

6) The running and completing, or winning, of any player run competitions on the forum will game you Karma. The amount will depend on the competition, email the office if you wish to do this.

7) You can use an Action slot to bet 10 Karma on the result of a league match. The odds will be (league position*2+ 8)/20. So betting on a first place team to win would win you 5 points. Betting on a 6th placed team would win you 10 points. Betting on a 14th placed team would win you 18 points. This can be done multiple teams per week and you can bet on yourself. Any team caught picking a weakened team for a meaningful match or betting on another manager doing so, will lose Karma.

Karma can be lost by:

If a deal is arranged on a thread on the forum, and both managers write 'confirmed' on the thread, it is classed as 'agreed'.

If one manager pulls out of the deal - the manager who has been let down can report it to the office by email, if they wish to. The manager who pulled out of the deal would lose 20 karma points. If a manager fails to write a deal down or does so wrongly they will have the opportunity to do the deal in the following turn.

Deals arranged by pm or whassap are unaffected, unless they are confirmed on the forum.

Karma can be spent on:

1) Reducing an injury by 1 week (20 Karma) (only be done once per team, per week, can't be done for 1 week injuries).

2) Regaining lost confidence (50 Karma) (can only be done one the week that a player’s confidence has gone down)

3) Persuade a player not to retire (100 Karma) (can only be done on players under 37)

4) Give an older player longevity (200 Karma) (less likely to lose stats at the EOS)

5) Give a player the Def/Mid/Att special ability (500 Karma)

When this is implemented, all Karma spend and UE Points spent, will be done in the actions section.

This is genius!

Really impressed with this.

But what is Charity work?

Will be nice to see managers racing to run sections instead of avoiding partaking. I also feel this will encourage the 'laid back' type of managers to do more than just the basics in the game now there is something at the end of it for them. I also feel this will severely boost forums. On the flip side the 'laid back' type managers i feel wont support this as it would mean more effort.

You will use an action to send your players to visit a hospitals etc, this gains you 1 Karma. It's a reliable way to slowly gain Karma, the cost is just the use of an action slots for that turn.

Yeah parts of this I like - not sure I agree with the karma being lost side of things. Especially as it's hard to police and would probably lead to even more deals being done away from the forum - but getting the points for doing good things seems a sensible route to go down.

I'm liking that. I struggle to fill up my actions section after the first few turns of a game.

Only thing that concerns me about this, is that it is a lot of work to keep on top off. So many ways of earning the points could create a lot of work.
For me it might work better with less ways of getting these points.

The computer would handle all the work apart from any player run forum competitions.

Also if caught fielding a weak team you lose Karma. I have played my back up teams almost every week in the league in 117 so I wouldn't want to be punished for that. Lol.

The computer can keep track of posts? And not just posts but meaningful posts. I could reply hello to every comment and gain points lol as it only tracks posts.

It would be for playing a very weak side to lose the game on a week when a lot of managers bet against you. Resting players for important upcoming games or rotating good players will be fine.

Would charity work impact the players at all? I could imagine visiting sick kids and making them happy a morale booster. Likewise prolific charity work could boost sponsorship income?

I say give it a go and see how it progresses. If it works keep it. If not bin it. No issue in trying it.

No. While some might find enjoy it, some players might find it boring. I'm sure clubs do this all the time and it barely has any effect on sponsorship.

It's meant to do the opposite. If a manager has been let down in a deal or two, he can ask for whoever he agrees a deal with to write 'confirmed' on the thread. If he is let down again he can report it. Deals done by pm won't change, and a manager who it let down is under no obligation to report it, is just an option.

Listen lads I know there gonna be happy ones and not so happy but it's there and would love to see this in the game and the forum be like the old days loads and loads of deals and chats and time to think over deals etc etc. We always have other ways to contact each other if you wanting faster deals but really like the Karma points idea added to the game.
