Similar to something that was player run a year or so ago, but didn’t quite get going.
The aim is to try and make the best team possible. All entrants are given a random order, for example 1 to 10.
1) Entrant 1 picks one player from any point in history, could be Pele, Messi, George Best, Maldini etc. That player is then taken and can’t be picked by other entrants. Entrant 2 then picks a player and so on.
2) Once it gets to player 10, it starts again (round 2) but the order is reversed. In round 2 each entrant picks 2 players.
3) Once everyone has picked 3 players, rounds 3, 4 and 5 start with entrant 10 picking first. This is to counter the advantage the early entrants have being able to pick the Messi and Ronaldo’s of this world. In all rounds after and including round 3, everyone should pick 2 players.
4) On round 6 entrant 1 picks first, and again picks 2 players to finish the team.
5) When it is your turn, you have 24 hours to pick your player. If this passes and you haven’t picked a player you’ve missed your chance. When your go comes round again you must pick 2 players. If you miss two rounds you are out, and all the players you have picked already are frozen out of the game, and will not be available to be picked by other entrants.
When all entrants have 11 players, in any reasonable formation, all teams will be judged by the powers that be at Ultimate Europe.
Whoever we think has the best team will be awarded 5 bonus UE points.
