No correct guesses yet, by pm or on the thread. A clue - two of the teams were German.

We have played in games, especially HFGs before, sometimes under a pseudonym, sometimes not. It's good for us to have that different perspective. Are we playing at the moment and who did we manage in the past, are questions you are free to ask. But you should probably expect only vague and cryptic responses.

Have you had any success in those management careers?

On average I would say reasonable success, all things considered.

If anyone can guess the three of the teams we managed in 40 (the first hard format game), 87 or 99, we'll confirm if we're in 117 or not.

Stuttgart

Doubtful, Craig! They never have a problem getting a taker for teams like Man Utd.

Indeed, also from 87.

I'll be surprised if you get any of the 4 other though. Game 40 was before the pdf's were sent out, and very few of you played in that. Game 99 is possible, but we were better hidden and less successful.

He was correct then, but he said he doesn't know game 40 but after checking said you was Celta Vigo in game 99. I also asked Shaun who said he was in the first UE game and he couldn't even remember who he was. Lol. So MGB and Stuttgart and then Celta Vigo assuming they are correct? No one seems to know the others. Just tell us! lol

Someone has been swatting up on Ben. Celts Vigo were managed by John Paget who does share a surname with the UE main man.

Oooooo duel managing in a hard format game 87 UE ;)  But good work buddy, looks like you've have cracked it leaving just game 40 to find out. Waiting for Shaun to get back to me, he seems the only one who would know unless anyone else had been in really early games.

Come on UE, just tell us if you are in 117 ;)

Probably the team I liked the most in my UE managerial career.

Still only two right.

I knew it! Can I now claim another backdated Champs League win then?!

For what it's worth that MGB team was phenominal I certainly don't bare a grudge losing that Final to the best team in 87. It certainly wouldn't bother me if you guys wanted to join in the games, the more challenging the competition the better it is for the game.

My only regret was when my Charlton team beat MGB in the last group game of the 2nd group stage 2-0 that it wasn't by 3 goals which would have eliminate MGB / the machine at the time! :D
