Will the player ratings at the start of the game be different from those at the start of 116 with respect to the manageable teams with the game or will they be the same?
Every game is different.

Just a bit more detail about teams starting in debt.
The starting transfer funds/debts are based on the starting squad values.
Ie Teams that have a lot of young players, who are worth more, will find themselves in more debt than those with ageing players.
An example of this would be Tottenham - not many stars but a lot of younger valuable players.

How do we know that the bids in the auction are legitimate? as you could be declaring bids higher than what they actually are so that you generate higher bids.
1. We are not dishonest. 2. We are accepting managers bids in good faith, very few people let us down paying their deposits in the last HFG, so we hope this remains true for 117.

Is there any way that the bidding thread could make it clearer as to which bids are primary bids and which are backup bids? What I mean by this is that some people have submitted bids for a number of teams, and all bids are being shown, which throws up a few problems. For example, player A wants Barcelona so bids £300 for them but also gives you backup bids £220 for Arsenal, £220 Chelsea and if all else fails £55 Watford. All those bids are then shown on the forum. Player B wants Watford, checks the forum, sees he needs to beat £55 so bids £110 and player C had £165 for Arsenal so has now been outbid and raises his bid to £225.
Player A eventually gets his first choice of Barcelona, making his bids for the other teams redundant. However player B is now paying £110 when there is no real bid for Watford, Player C could have won Arsenal for £165 and has kinda been pushed into spending an extra £60 that he didnt need to. Player D had a limit of £200 for Chelsea so didnt place a bid but now finds out the £220 bid was player A's backup and is irrelevant now.
Ive recently been outbid (by £1, which I think is kinda lame, but thats not for here) but how do I know if thats somebody's primary bid or just a backup that wont pan out? I dont really want to raise my already expensive bid just to find out my original bid would have been fine.
Im sure im not the only person thinking this. Im not trying to cause trouble or be negative but to some of us this is a lot of money that we are putting into a game we really love, and for that reason it needs to be fair.
You have a fair point. We could colour the primary and secondary bids to make things clearer. We'll have a look at doing this tomorrow.

Im afraid i agree with Jay on this one..
Whilst i think the longevity of a game will be excellent by having managers paying the big bucks keeping them in the game longer.
Its one month before christmas and i think its hard for some people to cough up £200+ for a club. Seeing Real Madrid go for £400 is insane.
Would love to see your input on this UE.

Will there be a system put in place to stop managers bidding maximum value on players on the transfer list and scouted finds early in the game? I know an earlier game an idea was proposed that max values are to be randomly skewed to prevent this. If so, does this make bidding in the first few weeks pot luck?
All maximum values are randomly skewed so there will be more luck involved.
You say that any professional European team can be added to the game, will all the teams created in the game be listed on turn 1 to ensure managers scouting early in the game don't scout a managed side?
Not in the report but they will be listed on the forum most likely.

I would have thought it would make sense the one who gets the bid in first would lead and anybody else would then have to beat the bid? I'm sure that's how 112 worked unless i'm mistaken. No, in the unlikely event that two winning bids are identical we will randomly select one of them.

Just a question, can we get a bit more detail into how the trialist and the youth setup in general is going to be improved exactly?
Not at this time.

This is getting confusing do we just have to bid higher than the winning bid.
The winning bid is the highest primary bid we have received for that team.
What happens if somebody's primary bid is lost does there secondary bid become the winning bid for that team
Yes, thats why we are showing it in brackets.

ok if thats the case then correct me if im wrong but if joe bloggs bids £200 as a primary bid for arsenal and £300 as a secondary bid for chelsea because the primary bid is £200 and he wants to beat it anybody wanting chelsea will have to bid higher than £300 just in case the above guys primary bid is bettered and his secondary bid is used (now making it the primary bid for chelsea) the only problem is if i bid £320 to beat his secondary bid and then find his primary bid for arsenal was excepted im paying £320 for a team i could have got for £210. like was mentioned above christmas is just round the corner and ive just coughed up for a season ticket in game 114 and due a ticket for game 112 soon as well. shame a system to help with the cost couldn't have been worked out. hope this makes sense.. No the primary bid is the highest amount so in your example the primary bid will be for Chelsea.
If you want to bid exactly the same for ten teams you can list them in priority.

that does not make sense joe bloggs wants arsenal as his primary pick, chelsea is a back up but he has to bid bigger in order to beat current bid.
if you are saying any primary bid must be the highest then he would have to match his chelsea bid of £300 which means he could be paying way over the odds for arsenal if he gets his primary pick if say the next highest bid for arsenal was £180
The highest bid you make will be treated as your primary bid.

Will all these new teams be added to the drop downs on the extras section when sending our MDS off via your website. As Benelux / Russia hasn't been on there and 112 has been going for over 2 years.
The problem is the form is really big and any additions increase the time it takes to load the page. However we will look into doing something as there could be several new sides added.

if friday 30th at midnight is the last point for bids at what stage will you stop updating the bids received section on the forum ?
I think now that you have raised the point 12 noon would be better then we can do an update the night before and again on the day itself. We can then email managers on the Friday afternoon.
