Think we should all put 1 player in each my vote would be Ruud Gullit although won't be in many people's top 20 for me i loved watching him...and thought he was the complete player.

George weah

Loved watching him at Milan and remember when he ran from his own half and went pass a few players and scored

And

oliver bierhoff

Loved this guy and his scoring was superb.

Zvonimir Boban loved that Croatian team and players like him and Enzo Scifo and Gazza just ran games

Maldini for me was just class. Also liked Roberto baggio but maybe not quite in the top 20.

Pretty modern but Lionel Messi is special, love those types of players that can take games by the scruff of the neck and change it in an instance.

I used to love watching rivaldo!didn't really know too much about him before his move to the nou camp but he was incredible on his day.

But overall would have to say messi, the man is a genius and has the quickest football brain I think I have ever seen.

I don't think that anyone can argue that Pele and Maradona stand as #1 and #2 in some order.
The rest of my top 20 would include players to fill all positions rather than a cavalcade of front men (although one accepts that they will always grab the headlines).

In no particular order after #3 they are:-

Johann Cruyff :D
Ferenc Puskas
Eusebio
Garrincha
Alfredo Di Stefano
Paolo Maldini
Thierry Henry
Bobby Moore
Franz Beckenbauer
Leo Messi
John Charles
George Best
Lev Yashin
Nandor Hidegkuti
Carlos Alberto
Dennis Bergkamp
Giacinto Facchetti
Cristiano Ronaldo

Nice list Mark, but sadly given my age I cant really comment on some and who on earth is Nando's Hidekutio? ;)
