Just interested to hear everybody's thoughts here, and also a question for Ben.

I'm not ashamed to admit it, but generally 4 seasons will do me in a game. After that I feel a new game and challenge is needed. 2 years in the real football world will have passed and new players will have come to light, superstars are made over an international tournament and a new game reflects the current football World for me.

How long do others like to stay in games for?

And also, question for Ben, how long did the longest game run for? And as a matter of interest, how many games are currently running now?

This HFG I'll do 8 seasons I reckon. Did that in the last one.

After 4 seasons, this game will just be getting started. It takes longer to build your team in an HFG

I've only been in one HFG, in 112 I think it was, but it was just after I got married and I left UE for 3/4 years.

If as you say Muscles it takes longer to build your team then hopefully it'll keep me interested longer!

In 117 with Crusaders it took me until end of season 3 to get promoted. That was in the Scottish League.

This time round I'm Crusaders again but I'm in the British league and in the 4th division. I don't expect to get to the premiership until season 6 earliest.

If you're in a similar position, think of it like I am.

Great question and great thread, however I'm going to be brutally honest and in no way meant to offend anyone.

I personally get pi55ed off when people leave a game early I know I shouldn't as its nothing to do with me. Granted if you have financial issues or having no enjoyment then fine, but we do frequently see many people leave because there struggling and to embarrassed to admit it. However this is easy to spot! In my 15 years in UE and I know many of the other older hardcore managers can usually tell the real reasons someone leaves a game when its early. But you do see all manor of excuses which just make you chuckle. I have noticed most of the time a manager leaves early, usually regret it.

I personally stay in games on average the 7-8 season mark. Usually by the 8th season games are brown bread and unless its still busy I usually leave then. Longest I've stayed is 9 seasons to date.

Another bug bare of mine which is becoming more common now is when managers build teams in season 1 and say 2 leave and a new guy comes in and rips the squad that's been built apart (despite it usually being rather decent) and then leaves the game soon after with the same old excuses leaving the side depleted. Saw it a few times in the legends game which was shit to see. Again this is spotted very easy. So im glad Ben is now going down the route of making managers pay wads of cash for teams from the start as it boosts chances of managerial longevity even if it is just by a little.

So as a result of that hoping Game 121 becomes the best one yet!

5-6 seasons for me but stayed in Game 100 into S10. I have not quit any HFG before s5, just depends on what league you are in and how much interaction there is. I’m not a big swapper don’t my teams generally are settled by s4.

Most teams that managers drop can be turned around by somebody more experienced with the same players pretty quickly.
If you do struggle don't be afraid to ask on forum for advice as most are happy to help.
HFG as the name suggests won't drop into place straight away and don't panic if you can't do deals every squad will have players that can be developed with points and training it's a long road to success.

119 is in s6 now. Think it was 99 maybe I'm wrong that went to s10.

For me I've quit quite a few times come season 2. Mainly cause I have alot going on outside of ue. Last game 105 I stayed till s4.

I'm really looking forward to this one and the long activity.
