It has been suggested that some rest of the world legends get held back and introduced in future seasons to help improve the longevity of the game.

It has also been suggested that they don’t appear on the rest of the world transfer list, and can only be found be scouting.

I like both of these ideas, but neither of them help the smaller teams. Being able to sign the likes of Pele quickly, before the bigger teams have time to raise money will be made slightly tougher if none of the big legends appear on the transfer list on the first week.

And players being held back, means less available for the richer, smaller teams to buy in the early weeks.

Am happy to hear any thoughts on this.

Season 1 would be fair game to allow smaller teams to sign players from the ROTW transfer list certainly for the first half of the season.

But from turn 13 onwards I think the players should be dropped into the game via scouting on turns 1 and 13 each season to keep the game ticking over meaning you effectively have turns 1 to 12 to find the batch of scouted players until the next batch of players are dropped in.

13 turns should be enough to hoover up all the players dropped in between all the managers in the game.

In Game 107 by Turn 3 I had managed to compile a squad which included signings R Ayala, R Marquez, Roberto Carlos, D Beckham, A Shevchenko and T Henry

On a seperate note Ben - any chance of my old team being re-created with those names above? ;)

I've already suggested that the smaller sides get armed with cash and the RotW list contains the big guns in week 1.

Maybe not this game, but a future one,

HFG
(Niort & crusaders worth managing)
ALL legends at random ROTW

force the big clubs to manage from day 1 and not hog players
Little clubs can grow fast.

In turn, should keep the game extremely busy for a good while.

Either way, I'm still going to play. We are the ones that contribute a huge part in a good game.

Personally I don't think players should be held back, stick them all in and then let everyone put the work in to scout them. What we don't want is people stopping scouting around turn 10-12 thinking all the best legends have been found. Put them all in and it will keep managers scouting and keep managers putting in the work to find the players.
However the second point, I agree with scrap the row list and flood the legends in to the row sides to be scouted. However as I pointed out previously, sharing scouted players will become a major issue.

Agreed. This does need to be policed.

I've no idea how many fictionial brothers and sisters play the game but at least in 119 scouts should only be able to be bought from teams you've scouted.

Agree on your proposal UE.

I don't think rotw legends should appear on the TL, or maybe just the odd one every few turns to inject some interest on an open bidding war.
I think 99% of rotw legends should be found via scouting.

Also to hold a few bad to filter in throughout the game would be good.

As for smaller v bigger teams, this is a fair point, but the reality is that bigger teams have the muscle in real life anyway and more clout. Doesn't bother me as I see a game in the sense of longetivity in that hopefully by season 2 or probably 3 things start to even out.

At the moment I think the best way forward is to have a small selection of very good ROTW legends on the list on turn 1 (everyone will be able to scout Brazil and to find Pele anyway), but no ROTW legends on the list there after.

Holding players back for future seasons I am still unsure about.

A chance, but it'll take some wheeling and dealing to get there ;)

Will there be a list of the top teams in the game once you have decided what's what?

That way although not knowing how the team will look people will know roughly how good the teams are so we can start bidding?

The more legends are added the more it changes, and every time a new test is run the players ages vary and it gives different results. Some teams to tend to be stronger you would expect, but I'm not going to list them. If there is a particular team you are considering and want to ask about feel free to email the office.

The more I think about this game the more I get excited !

Already decided I'm going all in for a team but can't think who? Or I do decide and change my mind!

Ajax with the likes of Van Basten, Rijkaard

Man utd with Cantona, Giggs , Scholes etc..

Arsenal with hopefully Henry and Bergkamp ( if Berkhamp at Ajax that's even better for them)

Liverpool with Rush, King Kenny, Barnes??

Milan with Maldini, Costacurta, Shevchenko?

There's too much choice and even guys that don't spend big will no doubt not be disappointed

If it helps:

Ajax will start with Van Basten and Rijkaard.

Man Utd will start with Giggs and Scholes, but not Cantona.

Arsenal look like starting with Bergkamp but not Henry.

Liverpool may not have Rush, King Kenny or John Barnes.

Milan will have Maldini and Costacurta but not Shevchenko.

This game looks better and better. If Henry isn't at the Gunners then he maybe at Monaco possibly with the likes of Barthez, Martial, Djorkaeff, Scifo and Thuram which makes them a seriously top side.

You're right there will be a few teams that you will not be expecting that will slip under the radar
