Post subject: | 119 – The Game of Legends |
Over 1000 ex players from the recent and distant past will be scattered across manageable and rest of the world teams. The legends and current day players can be placed at any team they have played for at some point in their career (excluding loans). They will be a random factor in the allocation, but the intention is to make all teams as even as possible. So Marcel Desailly is much more likely to be placed at Nantes than AC Milan or Chelsea, and Christian Ronaldo is almost certainly going to start at Sporting Lisbon rather than Man Utd or Real Madrid. This is make the game as competitive as possible. Rather than make the Real Madrids of this world even more dominant than they already are, teams like West Ham, Ajax and Southampton will be pulled much closer to their level. Similar to hard format games, the biggest teams will start in debt, but only slightly. The most valuable team will start £25M in the red, and the smaller teams will more money. I can safely say, there has never been as many good rest of the world players available, so the money can be put to good use. Legends ages will be set randomly, between 23 and 28. The game will be run on a Tuesday deadline and will be email only. Teams will be allocated by private auction, and as always, the amount bid will be the starting credit for that team. If you wish to apply send an email with a list of teams how much you are prepared to bid for each one. Bids must be in by the 19th of February. The game will start as soon after that as possible, but there isn’t a definite start date yet, as there is still a lot of work to be done before it will be ready. |

Although it is called game of legends, any ex players can be added to the game. Earl Barrett, Igor Biscan and Paul Bracewell are a few examples of the players no everyone would consider legendary. If there is any player you think should be in the game, whether they played for a team you are planning to manage or not, they can be added. Email the office rather than post a list on the forum as there may be other managers who are planning to scout or SPS that player. Just be aware, unless they were a one club man like Ryan Giggs, or someone who only played for one European team, like Steven Gerrard, they won’t necessarily be at the club you want. Some players that were put in from the distant past, were done so based on a paragraph found on google. If there is a player you may be more familiar with that plays for a team you are going to manage, feel free to share your thoughts before the game is run, and they will be considered. But to be clear, no players will be moved to other clubs or have their stats changed once the game has started. |

Wil legends have static ratings? How is potential and points going to work? |

A point free game (at least initially) is an option. The smallest teams will still be a long way behind the Man Utds and Real Madrids, so giving these teams UE points to help bridge the gap may still happen. There could be restrictions on putting potential on legends. Am happy for these points to be debated. |

How about 1 season we can have/use points, the next no activity. Coulf help longevity, would it be possible to add pot in players max values? |

Perhaps a stupid question but will this be a game with real life squads with a scattering of legends in each team or will each squad be made up of pure legends fro the past and no players that play at present? |

How many 'legends' are likely to be at each to start with? Are there restrictions on which club we can put bids in for? |

thegulls wrote: Perhaps a stupid question but will this be a game with real life squads with a scattering of legends in each team or will each squad be made up of pure legends fro the past and no players that play at present? The first stage is to add players that only ever played for one club, Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher etc. The second stage is to move current day players to teams they used to play for with lower team value than their current team. Roberto Firminho would move to Hoffenheim, Sadio Mane would move to Metz, Red Bull Salzburg or Southampton (whoever has the lowest squad value). Then there are several stages, other legends are allocated etc. So, the higher the squad value, the less current day players will remain there. |

andyjr wrote: How many 'legends' are likely to be at each to start with? Are there restrictions on which club we can put bids in for? It depends on the team, how big they are, and how many suggested legends we have that played for them. You can place as many bids as you like, for any team in Europe. |

WOW!! This is just incredible. Ben you have outdone yourself here pal, my hat comes off to you. This will be the game of all games! May i ask a question please, is it a HFG type of game? My initial thoughts would be points need to be in the game given the legends are scattered around, if they were at their 'legend status' clubs then i would have said no need for points. What's everyone else's thoughts on this lads? |

Wolfsburg 117 wrote: May i ask a question please, is it a HFG type of game? Not 100% sure what you mean. It is not a HFG. Multi team management is allowed, the biggest teams start off slightly in debt (max £25M) as stated earlier, the smaller teams will have more money. |

I'm maybe not 100% getting this so say I was to bid on Barcelona would I start off with current Barca squad and no legends or I could perhaps have someone like Stoichkov thrown in? I'm taking this as the legends are put into smaller teams? Is this to make them more attractive to managers? Thanks |

My understanding is that you'd certainly have players who have only played for barca eg puyol. After that not sure |
