Post subject: | New Special Abilities? |
We have thought (and asked on the forum) before about adding new special abilities to the game, but didn't come up with anything that wasn't already covered by the current special abilities, or player's stats. It is however, something we are open to. If anyone has any suggestions or thoughts, please post them here. |

Loy- the player is loyal to the cause and his moral always remains high, perhaps he can also have some bearing on team moral/discipline?! |

Speed, Corners, maybe one for a keeper like "cat" which helps shot-stopping? Its hard to say as I think you have covered practically everything, wouldn't having more SA's devalue the term SA's? |

Just throwing out some idea's to for us all to discuss and voice opinions. SA PEN - We have a SA FK's so how about a penalty specialist? Le Tissier, Zidane, Shearer were all pen experts. SA AGG - Despite having AGG as a attribute, it can't rise. So how about a SA in reference to tough strong players like Dicks, Vinny, Keane and Vieria SA ACC - I love the thought of a super quick player, we have speed attribute but no acceleration, could be an idea? A lightning quick winger could be great for those who play wingers. |

Need a defensive one for DM's and the back line - How about POS - as in positioning? More likely to intercept attacking passes and through balls. Or MAR (Marking) These players are better at tracking offensive runners and marking them on set pieces CRE - Creativity This player has an eye for a through ball (ideal for PL, CM & FR) |

I like the thought of a Penalty Taker, the others that have been mentioned are already covered by speed, aggression, determination, flair or vision. The game is already speed daft, so wouldn't even entertain that. Is there a corner taker or throw in taker? These coupled with HEI could really have an effect at set pieces. What about an SA for older players like Experience? Something that could have an effect on younger players at training/games within the squad in similar positions, that could possibly have an effect on their untrainables earlier in their career such as judgement/vision? Trying to think outside the box a bit. Might also add good value to good older players. |

I think the SA's now cover most things. Maybe one more for goalkeepers like shot stopper for example. Mostly I think SA leadership needs to give a little more. For the amount of points it doesn't seem to have much affect. I don't know how you could do this but say having a defender with LEA would help the whole defence be a little more organised and the same for a midfielder and the midfield. Also GSI needs something. I don't think many managers who have played a few games would choose GSI over FLA. For me FLA has given a little extra to a player where as GSI I have seen very little to see it has an effect. |

SWEEPER KEEPER - a SA that utilises the goalkeeper as someone offering passes to go forward al'a DDG, Neuer etc. Would be good to enhance POD same as HEI can counter ABB ? |

Some good ones here. Sweeper Keeper Creativity Acceleration Experience All good ideas. Experience especially as it gives older players more of a chance as opposed to guys packing their squads with younger players Maybe tweak the ones already in the game. Gsi seems to be largely ineffective. Gam doesn't really seem to do much either. But the 4 I've mentioned would get my vote. Acceleration and speed are 2 different things. Freddie Ljungberg used to have s great quick burst of acceleration for example Also I'd suggest increasing the cost of pot and maybe put an age limit eg 21 and under?? |

Some interesting ideas. Loy could work, not as a SA that would increase a players value, but something that would help maintain good morale and confidence. Cha (character) could be something similar. EXP has possibilities, and could be something that could be developed at the end of season. ACC, MAR is something to consider. POS is possible, but reasonably covered by Judgement. AGG is too similar to DET PEN and CRN I'm not sure would make enough difference in game. All the Penalty specalists mentioned would have a more prominent SA. How many corner specalists are there really? And don't say Harry Kane CRE is covered by Vision. Sweeper Keeper and Cat, possible but I'm not sure. Have made a note of the tweaks that have been suggested. Any more ideas and thoughts are welcome. |

Other popular ones could be INJ (injury prone) and DIS (disruptive). |

maybe a SA for a tough guy or more resilient to injuries? someone that way will play through injuries, like a broken nose or a dislocated finger....... frustrating injuries, especially as most players in real life would play through these with a face mask or fingers tapped up |

How about LON~ Longshots VER- versatility, being able to play out of position, which could work sometimes of fail the next! CRE- creativity CRO- crossing. This could work well for fullbacks & wingers |

I'm not certain that any additional SA wouldn't be overlapping the existing ones. I would prefer to see a greater effect from the current selection. GAM needs to be more positive. Most of us steer clear because it seems to work both for and against you in equal measure. FKS could be adapted to SET. Someone who takes all set pieces. LEA is a huge investment but needs a more appreciable bonus. I accept that you need to put an SA on the right player but, as I argued elsewhere, currently an SA is poor value when compared directly with POT. The SA does not have the built in guarantee that POT provides. You might have a POT player who doesn't perform but you will still be getting the financial benefit of the rises. The existing lineup of SAs needs to receive an overhaul rather than muddying the waters by adding more. |

We are reviewing the effect of some of the SAs as well as considering new ones. So any feedback is good. GAM does have a mixed effect, and shouldn't be priced the same as the others, this will be changed. Having a lower tier of SA's that have a lesser effect and cost less than the big ones might add colour to the game. |

Under consideration at the moment: EGO - (confidence protection, complains early if not in the team) DIS - disruptive INJ - injury prone REL - reliable CHA - character or PER - Personality LOY - Loyalty EXP - Experienced VER - Versatile (can play defence, midfield and attack) |

Any player that is Injury Prone will be as popular as a 2 speed CB |

Versatile is by far the best one |

Some good ones for sure, but not too sure of the INJ as who would want to buy him? Could EGO and DIS be considered too similar given both disrupt sides. However I do like versatile and loyalty.i think experienced is the same as having a late 20's and early 30's players isn't it? An idea from me would be that I would like to see the suggested retirement age increased from 32 to possibly 34ish with even the odd player playing to late 30's like so many do these days. |
