Post subject:  What do you Watch

So most of us here are football fans but what other sports float your boat.

I watch a lot of cricket, my company have a box at Old Trafford so see a fair bit of T20 but love test match cricket as well.

Rugby Union this is mostly international but I love the way rugby is played, for the most part its hard but fair and respectful.

Recently went to Boston and took in a baseball game at the legendary Fenway Park, great atmosphere and occasion but cant say it grabbed me.

Not in the way Ice Hockey has, A trip to New York 6 years ago and Madison Square Gardens to see New York Rangers was enough to hook me. Its fast and furious and any sport where fighting is acceptable is good for me, a lot of late nights now watching NHL and a few trips to Sheffield arena for the Steelers.

Lots of others boxing, bit of horse racing bit of a sport aholic really

If it's as a participant then cricket. Absolutely loved the game.

As a spectator then it's the NFL. I'm a longtime fan of Seattle (since 1983!) so have been spoilt over recent seasons.

Basketball is the game that leaves me cold.

I love my American sports and pretty much wish I was American lol.

Been big NFL for over 10 years now and my team are the New Orleans Saints. I've seen them play twice now and one of those times was in New Orleans which is an experience I will never forget.

I'm also into Ice Hockey and my team are New York Islanders. Being a Celtic fan I was never going to follow any team called Rangers so the Islanders were a natural choice. I've seen them play twice, once against the Rangers (we lost) and the other Just last year when they beat Minnesota 5-3.

My wife has no idea how much money we spend on sport TV each month and would probably go mental is she did lol!

I worked in a bookies for over 10 years back when you had to have an interest or knowledge of racing so I still love a day at the races or watching on TV on a Sat. If I ever win the Euro millions I'm gonna invest a good 20mil in top class horses! I just need to start playing it now.

An Isles fan eh Good to find another hockey fan to be honest. Think we will struggle this year aging D men with no trade agreements and massive salaries means we've been quiet through the trades and rfa. Also a few going into arbitration will probably put us close to salary cap.

Look forward to Derby day :)

Yeah well we swept your lot last year!

Isles have lost a few big players in FA. Okposo and Neilsen were top players last season and have left, although I do think that there stats were a little misleading as they both had poor patches of form racked up a few multiple points games that padded the stats. Biggest loss for me was Matt Martin as although not a great hockey player his love of a big hit and a scrap really got us going in games.

We have brought in a couple of decent players who on paper are not as fancy as the guys we lost but I'm hoping will be more consistent. Added to that we have 3 or 4 young players who will be looking to make step up as well.

Will be an interesting season for the Isles. And no doubt a few more Derby wins!

Cricket, NFL, Golf - the main ones bar football. I can watch the egg chasing and a few other sports but don't tend to watch them out of necessity.

Took me an age to get a hang of the NFL but now it's probably the thing I watch most - I think that is partly because of the fantasy sports element of it. Was hoping Draftkings would launch in the UK in time for this season but it doesn't look to be happening.

Cricket wise - nothing better than having a day off and sitting through seven hours of a test match instead of doing numerous chores that you've been assigned.

* NB - I should add I was pretty crazy with the horse racing also. See the Lonesome Pundit blog for that. But that has rather died down. I will watch it but not to the point where I'm watching the 3.25 at Hexham throwing things at the TV anymore.

Ah class. Hopefully that will happen. I know Fan Duel have been having some legal problems. If not it will just be the ESPN Fantasy again.

They were doing BETA testing over the Euros which I had a shot of. Free to enter and prizes pots of £500 while testing.

With it being UK they are bigging it up for the EPL starting. Just hoping they let us get involved with the NFL as well

Cycling the tour de france is the hardest sporting event to win in the world. Shame armstrong ruined it for a while but the tactics and sheer endurance make it mint to watch
